Welcome to the next stop in my Yarn Shop Travel Series!
I love visiting local yarn stores wherever I go—they’re full of creativity, community, and inspiration. In this series, I’m sharing some of my favorite stops to help you discover new places to shop, stitch, and support small businesses. Each shop has its own unique personality, and I hope this encourages you to explore and connect with the amazing fiber world beyond your hometown!
Wool & Honey

Tucked away in the small town of Cedar, Michigan (about 30 minutes from Traverse City), this shop is stunning. It might just be the most beautiful yarn store I’ve ever visited. From the moment I walked in, I noticed how intentional and welcoming the space felt. There was a candle burning, a group of knitters around on comfy furniture, and gorgeous displays everywhere I looked.
What I Found

Their vibe is cozy, calm, and a little more elegant than most shops I’ve been to. The layout invites you to wander slowly and take it all in. They carry thoughtfully chosen yarns, including natural options from Quince & Co. and some lovely locally dyed yarn from Bella Filato (two skeins of which came home with me—plus a few Michigan-made candles, because how could I not?).
Every Yarn Shop Tells a Story

Wool & Honey feels different from Tink & The Frog in a lot of ways—more rustic, and yet more elegant—but that’s part of what makes visiting other shops so inspiring. Each one has its own personality, and you can tell the folks at Wool & Honey put a lot of care into every detail. It’s a quiet and cozy shop, but it doesn’t feel closed off—it just invites you to slow down, breathe in, and soak up the beauty.
If you’re ever up north, make a detour and check it out. Whether you’re stopping for the yarn, the vibe, or the community of makers tucked into a cozy corner on a Saturday morning, it’s well worth the trip.
