Week 1 – Intermediate Stitches
Expand your stitch vocabulary and explore how placement affects fabric behavior and drape.
Project: Intermediate Stitch Sampler Panel
Week 2 – Increases & Decreases
Learn intentional shaping while maintaining stitch patterns.
Project: Parallelogram Hat (worked flat; seamed in Week 5)
Week 3 – Gauge, Ease & Measurements
Understand swatching, positive/negative ease, and body measurements — the foundation of garment construction.
In-Class Activity: Gauge swatch + measurement practice
Week 4 – Garment Construction 101
Read and interpret schematics, translate measurements to stitch counts, and begin front/back panels.
Project: Teddy Bear Vest (panels completed for Week 5)
Week 5 – Finishing: Seaming & Assembly
Master professional finishing techniques including mattress stitch, whip stitch, and slip stitch seams.
Bring your hat panel, vest panels, and practice swatches.
