Knit a cozy, textured hat with a folded brim, subtle stripes, and a classic pom-pom—all in one easy, giftable kit.
The February Hat, designed by Kate Gagnon Osborn for Kelbourne Woolens’ Year of Hats, is worked in the round from the bottom up. It begins with a deep folded ribbed brim, then moves into an engaging textured stitch pattern before finishing with crown decreases and a pom-pom.
Each kit includes:
- 1 skein of Kelbourne Woolens Keystone Worsted in your chosen color
- A printed copy of the February Hat pattern
- A stitch marker
- An organza project bag
Kelbourne Woolens Keystone is a versatile worsted-weight yarn made in the USA from a blend of wool and upcycled acrylic. It offers the warmth and character of wool with added durability, making it a practical choice for everyday hats and gift knitting. One skein is enough to complete the February Hat.
The pattern uses US 4 and US 6 circular needles, plus US 6 DPNs for the crown. It is best suited to knitters who are comfortable working in the round and ready to try charted texture and a provisional cast-on.
Finished size: approximately 19.5" circumference unstretched and 9.5" tall.
A fun cold-weather project to knit for yourself—or a thoughtful handmade gift for someone else.
