Looking for something a little different from your classic beanie?
Capucine is a cozy, whimsical hood-style hat that's surprisingly simple to knit!
The hat begins worked flat before joining in the round, giving you a chance to practice a different style of hat construction. Using just knit, purl, ribbing, garter stitch, and stockinette, it's an approachable project with a fun finished result. Add tassels at the end for even more personality!
Skill Level: Easy. You should already know how to knit and purl. This is a great next project if you're ready to move beyond rectangles!
Class Materials:
Yarn for class should be purchased at Tink & The Frog, and students receive 10% off class materials.
-
Yarn: We recommend Rambouillet Air for a light, lofty hat, but Malabrigo Vientos or Woolstok Tweed would also be beautiful choices. Want some extra fluff? Hold your yarn together with a strand of Cumulus for a soft, fuzzy halo.
- US 8-10 16" circular needles (or size needed to achieve the fabric you like)
- Stitch markers, scissors & tapestry needle.
Come ready to cast on! We'll work through the construction together and get your cozy Capucine well underway.
