Ready to level up your crochet skills? The Widdershins Slouch is a perfect choice for your first crochet wearable!
This spiral hat starts as a slanted rectangular panel that's then seamed and cinched at the top. No keeping track of joined rounds or complex shaping, just a simple two-row repeat that looks far more complicated than it is.
Class 1 (Oct 3): We'll get your panel started and work through the two-row repeat together. You'll leave knowing how to continue the pattern — and with homework! Finish your panel before we meet again.
Class 2 (Oct 17): In this session you'll learn how to seam up the side of your finished panel, cinch the crown, weave in your ends, and attach your pom. You'll walk out with a finished hat.
Need help between sessions? Stop in during Melissa's office hours, Thursdays and Saturdays from 1:00–2:00 PM.
Stitches used: Chain, half double crochet, and the puff stitch. We'll go over the puff stitch together, but students should be comfortable with chains and HDC before class.
Included in your class fee: One skein of Hayfield Spirit DK yarn in the color of your choice, a copy of the Widdershins Slouch pattern book, and a snap-on pom pom.
Bring to Class:
