2024 SE Michigan Amigurumi Festival
May 1 - May 31
New to Southeast Michigan in 2024, this event will bring out the creative imagination for yarn crafters of all ages!
Brought to you by the owners of Plum Tree Yarn Shop, Knit Picky & Hooked, and Tink & The Frog.
Here’s how this works
Step 1. Register for $15 at any one of our shops (here’s what you’ll get).
Step 2. Attend as many free workshops as you want during May for inspiration, tips, and techniques. (only for festival participants)
Step 3. Crochet or knit a vignette (there are no minimum requirements and the sky’s the limit but here are some examples) either on your own or with friends, then bring your creation(s) to any of our shops by May 31 and we’ll display them for the month of June.
Why you should do this
- To have fun and meet other cool, creative people
- To learn stuff and get inspired
- To save 20% at any one of our shops (one visit during May)
- To get to know all 3 fun shops
- To show off your work and maybe win a prize (there will be many to give away!)
You’ll crochet, knit, or weave creatures, critters, plants, animals, aliens, cookies, chairs, sea monsters… (in other words, whatever your heart desires). The goal is to create a vignette using your creations. We’ll provide inspiration and can even help you brainstorm – we love that part!
Every participant gets to attend free workshops, display their works of art in one of our shops during June, and enter to win prizes – there will be many. You’ll even get an exclusive token of appreciation just for participating!
At the end of this festival, you’ll get your creations back or we’ll be happy to donate them to a local non-profit for others to enjoy.
