Riptide Crochet-Along

Join us for a fun and creative crochet-along this winter!
During our Winter Crochet-Along, we will be working on the Riptide Wrap Advent Edition pattern by Mariana Muller. This stunning wrap is is truly a work of art! While not recommended for absolute beginners, this pattern is amazingly accessible to any confident crocheter who knows their basic stitches, and includes well-written instructions, charts for tracking your color changes, and video tutorials for the tricky bits.
This pattern is perfect for using advent boxes, mini-skein kits, or even your leftover yarn stash! There are two options for color placement. Option 1 features multiple-colored wedges with a single main color separating them. Option 2 uses the main color in the wedges and the contrasting colors to divide them. Whichever option you choose, this pattern guarantees that you’ll end up with a wearable piece that is truly special!
The crochet-along will start January 18, 2024 and will run through the end of February (or until everyone is finished!) on Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 3:00PM. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow crochet enthusiasts, share tips and tricks, and work on this beautiful project together.
There is no cost to attend, and while not technically a class, Melissa will be facilitating and working up her own shawl right along with everyone else, so there’s no fear of getting stuck! (Weekdays don’t work for you? Come hang out with Melissa on Saturdays!)
You’ll need 15-16 contrasting colors (mini-skeins or scraps) and 1-2 skeins of a main color, depending on what color option you choose. Need help putting a color palette together? Michelle is the color queen and can make sure you have all the yarn you need to start this fantastic project!

Fingering/sock weight yarn (#1)
5 mm (US H-8) crochet hook
Stitch markers
Scissors & tapestry needle
Option 1 – Multiple coloured wedges (CC) with a single colour (MC) separating them
MC: 100g/360m/394yd
CC1-15: 15 colours ranging between 8g/29m/31yd and 23g/83m/91yd (total of 200g/720m/787yd)
Option 2 – Single colour wedges (MC) with multiple colours (CC) separating them
MC: 200g/720m/787yd
CC1-16: 16 colours ranging between 4g/14m/16yd and 8g/29m/31yd (total of 100g/360m/394yd)
